Cassie is both a graduate of ODU & EVMS, dealing with human services. She worked in the field until 1993 and the birth of her first child. She started mission work in 1997, fell in love, and began more serious, transitional, life changing work in 2007. Cassie founded HUM in 2009, following her passion to make a difference in the lives of the under-served of Richmond and bring affordable housing to the residents of Highland Park.

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
John (JT) is a 1985 graduate of the University of Michigan with a BS degree in Civil Engineering. JT served for 8 years in the U.S. Navy (Submarine Force) and then left the service, married Cassie, and eventually moved to Richmond. JT helped Cassie start Hands Up Ministries in late 2008 (which officially became the non-profit organization in Feb 2009). JT maintains the financial records (yearly taxes) and required yearly Virginia state certifications for HUM. He also oversees repairs to the HUM houses, and loves to teach home repair skills to any volunteer that will listen to him.
Kim Dages has been providing tax and business consulting services to individuals and small businesses in the Richmond area for over 22 years. Before starting her Kimberly B. Dages, CPA practice, Kim spent 5 years with KPMG. Kim earned her BBA in Accounting form JMU and a Masters in Taxation from VCU. Kim has and continues to dedicate her time and talents to a number of community service organizations and projects; however, her support to HUM and its mission is the one that she feels most passionate about.
Debbie is a 1990 graduate of the University of Vermont with a major in Dietetics. She left the field in 1994 to raise her family. This is when she became interested in non-profit and mission work. Debbie joined the staff of Hands Up Ministries in 2013 and puts her organizational skills to use maintaining the web site, social media, and calendar. She loves getting to know and work with the Highland Park neighbors.
Rashaniqe Brooks is an Insurance Verification Specialist at Bon Secours. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2015. After graduation she moved back to the Richmond area, and is concentrating on starting a holistic natural skin care line. She is currently working on her Master’s in Business Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University, in hopes to elevate her knowledge of the business world. Before interning with Hands Up Ministries she was thoroughly involved in her community amongst Read to Lead and Meals on Wheels. In her free-time she loves to give back to the community, explore museums, travel, and spend time with family. She loves people and to share the love of God wherever she goes.
